* Our team has a long and successful history of partnering with teachers, schools, and school districts across the country. Our leadership team is nationally recognized for its expertise in conducting field randomized trials and social psychological research and in managing large federally funded projects. Our research team includes analysts with advanced statistical training and broad experience in the field of education.

Dr. Trisha Borman
Dr. Trisha Borman
 

Dr. Trisha Borman is a Managing Director at American Institutes for Research (AIR) with nearly 20 years of experience in in conducting research in educational settings. Dr. Borman has served as Principal Investigator on many federally funded studies. She is currently leading a 5-year study exploring the impact of a brief self-affirmation mindset intervention on the social-emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes of middle school students across the country; and a 4-year replication study that tests the effectiveness of a brief mindset intervention designed to ease the transition into middle school and have positive impacts on students’ social-emotional well-being and their behavioral and academic outcomes.

Dr. Geoffrey Borman
Dr. Geoffrey Borman
 

Dr. Geoffrey Borman is the Alice Wiley Snell Endowed Professor at Arizona State University and President of Measured Decisions, Inc. (MDI). Trained as a quantitative methodologist at the University of Chicago, Dr. Borman has developed and evaluated many programs targeting the development of students’ social-emotional skills and well-being. Dr. Borman has served as PI or co-PI for more than 25 RCTs, which have included randomization and delivery of educational interventions at the student, classroom, school, and district levels. This work has resulted in more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, two edited volumes, and numerous book chapters and technical reports.

Bo Zhu
 

Bo Zhu is a senior researcher at American Institutes for Research with extensive experience managing multi-year and multi-site studies that are funded by the Institute of Education Sciences, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, and NSF. Zhu holds a master’s degree in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
